I just returned from a weeklong stay on the exotic Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Cap Maison is a great choice for food and wine lovers.  The food and beverage team has an extensive (and quite impressive) wine background not commonly found in the Caribbean. A must-do during your stay at Cap Maison is their weekly wine pairing and tasting, an special event held in the property’s cozy wine cellar. My husband and I had so much fun interacting with other guests and the food and beverage management team that evening – it was a highlight of my stay on the island for sure.

Cap Maison’s beach is lovely – a relatively small (but not too small) cove, with a friendly beach staff and lively beach bar and restaurant called The Naked Fisherman.  There are a number of non-motorized water sports available for guests to enjoy and a hammock strategically placed over the water.  The sand is soft and the water is clear – who could ask for more?

The north end of St. Lucia offers some unique off-site activities for guests who want to see a little more of the island during their stay.  The island’s longest running street party (Gros Islet’s Friday Night Street Party) takes place every Friday evening just a few minutes by taxi from Cap Maison.  Local food, beer and great music draw a crowd every week.  Additionally, Pigeon Island National Park is very close and well worth a visit.  The history of this old historic fort with breathtaking views is fascinating.
